In Beroun, a historical town located ween Prague and Pilsen, beer has been produced for a very long time, the brewery was established in 1295. In 1978, the brewery Beroun was closed. The owner of the Family Brewery Berounský Medvěd ("Beroun Bear") decided to continue the brewing tradition in Beroun and to maitain the original names of the beers brewed. The microbrewery is situated in the former sugar factory. The three-vessel brewhouse has direct heating using wood, the wort is prepared by the two mash method. For hopping, exclusively whole hops are used.
