In Hlucin, an old city located close to the city of Ostrava, beer was brewed as early as in the 16th century. The brewery here was founded in 1526. In 1904, after almost four hundred years, beer-making in Hlucin was terminated. The current owners have built their brewery on the ruins of the original one, and gave in the name Hlucin Old Brewery. By doing so, they revived the old brewing tradition here in 1993. The old structure was completely refurbished and turned into a modern building. However, its interior resembles bygone history. The original stone-built basement keeps yhe necessary temperature and is the real pride of the brewery.
